§ 02 · Our story

Stones stacked by travelers to guide those who follow.

Varde
/ˈvɑːr.də/ · Old Norse, varði
n. A cairn or beacon marker. A small, deliberate stack of stones, built by those who came before, to keep the next traveler on the trail.

For centuries, hikers and pilgrims have built vǫrðron ridgelines and trailheads: little rock towers that are small acts of care for strangers they’ll never meet. Varde is software for that same instinct: the friend who opens the spreadsheet, reads the rental terms, and texts the group “we leave at 7.”
